The Trust is an industry leader in kiwifruit production and harvesting and continues to invest in its people, whenua, and wider community through education, cultural, and community initiatives.
We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Payroll and Payables Administrator to support our finance and operations teams. Reporting to the Office Manager and working closely with the finance team, this role is critical to ensuring employees and suppliers are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with legislative and internal requirements.
Job Description
As Payroll and Payables Administrator, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing and accounts payable functions, while also providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the business. This role suits someone who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and consistency, and who enjoys working in a values‑driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll and maintain accurate employee payroll records
Prepare, code, and reconcile payroll and payables transactions
Ensure compliance with PAYE, KiwiSaver, ESCT, GST, and the Holidays Act
Process supplier invoices and maintain vendor master data
Prepare payment schedules and code transactions in Xero
Support internal controls, audits, and financial record‑keeping
Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and project support as required
Qualifications and Skills
Qualification in administration, payroll, or finance
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a payroll and/or payables role
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficiency in Xero and Excel (Power BI an advantage)
High integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori
NZ driver licence and legal entitlement to work in Aotearoa
