About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator – Meat Processing (QA) to join our Technical Team. This hands-on role plays a key part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Verification: Responsible for the effective and efficient auditing of quality and regulatory compliance systems. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure that audit outcomes, resultant actions and follow-up are communicated clearly to ensure optimal quality outcomes

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with RMP, OMAR, WQA, BRC, and North American Pharmaceutical requirements

  • HACCP Verification: Coordinate maintenance of Rick Management Programs and HACCP plans and ensure reviews are performed on time and to specification

  • Project Management: Undertake projects as assigned by the Technical Manager. Lead project teams. Scope, Plan and Manage projects through to completion

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives. Coach teams to ensure consistent compliance and quality systems.


What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a meatworks or meat processing environment

  • Solid knowledge of food safety practices and NZ regulatory standards (e.g., MPI, NZFS)

  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and observation skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold production environment

  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • Confident communicator—assertive yet diplomatic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in Food Science, Meat Science, or a related field

  • 3+ years in a quality assurance, food safety, or similar role

  • Experience implementing or maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS)
