Senior AI Engineer

A forward-thinking, product-led tech company is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design, build & deploy production AI systems across large-scale systems & data platforms

Enjoy solving real operational problems? Working with real-time data, and delivering measurable customer impact - this is a seriously interesting role

You’ll work closely with the CTO to turn AI, ML & data into practical, scalable systems that actually get used

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• 5+ years’ experience in AI / Machine Learning / Data Engineering
• Strong experience building production AI systems (not just experiments)
• Experience working with real-time / streaming data environments
• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured, deployable solutions
• Strong understanding of model validation, evaluation & performance
• Experience integrating AI into existing platforms / products
• Solid communication skills - able to explain complex ideas simply

What you’ll be doing:

• Design & build AI-driven systems in production to monitor, analyse & optimise large-scale environments
• Develop models & pipelines that extract insights from real-time and historical data
• Build intelligent systems that deliver diagnostics, support insights & personalised recommendations
• Translate business & operational needs into practical AI solutions
• Ensure systems are robust, observable and reliable in real-world conditions
• Integrate AI into existing platforms, services & workflows

• MUST HAVE RIGHT TO WORK IN NZ AND IS OFFICE BASED IN CHRISTCHURCH
