Rehabilitation Support Worker- 12 month -Fixed Term (Maternity cover)

About the role
12-month Fixed Term maternity cover – set shifts
Hours of work- 18.5 hours per week (2.50pm-9pm Sunday Monday and Tuesday).
Pay rate- $23.84 -$29.10 (dependent on relevant qualifications) per hour plus $2.50 per hour allowance for weekend shifts.
Start date- 14th April 2026.
This is a parental cover 12-month, part-time fixed-term role supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries and rehabilitation needs in the Avonhead Canterbury area. As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping our clients regain their independence and improve their quality of life. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable members of the community.
The responsibilities of this role include:
· Developing relationships with the people we support, their families and others involved in their lives.
· Supporting residents' rehabilitation and independence
· Taking people out into the community usually on a one-to-one basis
· Assisting with personal care needs, including showering, dressing and grooming
· Administering medication
· Household management and meal preparation
· Driving mobility vans (you must have valid Full NZ driving license)
· Ability to provide clear documentation.
· A police check will be required.
We are looking for people with the following attributes:
· Passion to support people with all their needs.
· Caring, reliable and trustworthy
· Respectful of people's differences
· At least 1 year of experience in a similar rehabilitation or disability support role
· Adaptable and flexible
· Able to work a part of a team or autonomously.
· MUST have a full New Zealand driver’s license (without any restrictions) and happy to drive a mobility van. Many of our residents own their own vehicle.
· Good time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong professional boundaries.
