PURPOSE OF POSITION 

The Plant Assistant’s primary purpose is to take responsibility for the key parts of the packing room, and storage process. The position is based off a shift roster pattern of 4-days on 4-days off. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Operation: 

• Operate and monitor the packing plant to ensure the production of high-quality products.

• Carry out packing of a product and ensure compliance to packing targets and standards.

• Set up, monitor and maintain the packing line i.e. packing, jet coding, sampling, palletising, stretch wrapping, labelling and product storage.

• Carry out final product testing and liaise with the Plant Operator regarding the results.

• Operate, start-up, run, CIP, perform basic diagnostics, shut down, complete appropriate documentation.

• Carry out the weighing and tipping of ingredients (including heating and transfer of Oils) ensuring compliance to the specifications batching sheets.

• Check and release finished batch.

Skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will have;

• Dairy manufacturing experience.

• 1 years’ experience in spray drying or similar manufacturing operations preferred.

• NCEA Certificate Level 2 preferred.

• Machine operating certification an advantage.
