The Role at a Glance
We’re looking for a capable Digital & Wide Format Print Operator who can confidently manage a busy production environment while consistently delivering high-quality output.
Most days involve switching between digital and wide-format production while keeping multiple machines running efficiently. The work is varied, fast-paced, and hands-on.
We’re not rushing to fill this role, we’re looking for the right person, not just any person.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
On a typical day you might handle 10-15+ jobs, most of which are small to medium runs.
Your goal is to keep production flowing smoothly. That often means running the digital press while wide-format machines are printing in the background, preparing the next job, or assisting with finishing when needed.
You may be given several job sheets at once and expected to organise the production order yourself based on deadlines and efficiency.
You’ll work alongside a small production team and be trusted to manage your time, spot problems early and keep jobs moving.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a Konica Minolta digital press with Fiery RIP (majority of daily work)
Run and maintain Roland Eco-Solvent, HP Latex, and Epson wide-format printers
Operate a JWEI digital die cutter
Monitor multiple machines and keep production flowing efficiently
Perform routine tasks such as colour calibration, stock loading, and basic machine maintenance
Assist with finishing work when needed; trimming, binding, lamination, die-cutting, packing and dispatch
Help maintain an organised, efficient production environment
General familiarity with RIP software such as Fiery Workstation, ColorGate, Onyx, or VersaWorks is helpful but not essential.
What Success Looks Like
Delivering consistently high-quality output with minimal supervision
Keeping multiple machines running efficiently throughout the day
Prioritising jobs sensibly based on deadlines and workflow
Identifying and solving problems before they disrupt production
Supporting the team when finishing or packing becomes a bottleneck
Our reputation depends on producing excellent work and meeting deadlines: every job leaving the shop reflects that standard.
This Role Is Not Suited To
People looking for a quiet desk job, this is a hands-on production role
Applicants who require constant direction or supervision
Those without practical experience in a real print production environment
Anyone who prefers slow, repetitive work over a varied and busy workflow
The Right Fit
You have solid experience in a commercial print production environment
You’re comfortable managing multiple jobs and machines throughout the day
You stay calm and organised under pressure
You take pride in producing high-quality work
You’re proactive, practical, and willing to step in wherever needed
Physical Requirements
This is an active role. You’ll spend most of the day on your feet and will regularly:
Load paper stocks and media
Lift packs of paper and occasional media rolls
Move materials around the production area
Compensation & Logistics
Location: Central Wellington
Hours: Full-time preferred, though part-time may be considered for the right candidate
