The Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) is a partnership between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan and WSP. The WTA is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations programme for the state highways and roading networks of the Greater Wellington Region, and for delivering high service standards to the people and roading network of the region.
Join us as a Traffic Controller
As a Traffic Controller, you will assist with the traffic management on site, ensuring a strong commitment to safety. You will assist with site set up, manage the safe flow of traffic around the work site.
We have positions available for nightshift position working a minimum of 40 hours from Sunday through Thursday.
In addition to the above you will:
- Assist with temporary traffic management on various worksites in line with current codes of practice
- Effectively communicate with the work site STMS/foremen to ensure smooth operation
- Identify and eliminate hazards as per hazard identification sheet

- Current TTM, TMO qualifications or a commitment to achieving qualifications
- Full Class 1 Licence non negotiable
- Ideally Class 2 Licence

In 1933, Fulton Hogan was founded by Jules Fulton and Bob Hogan, in Dunedin. The great depression of the 1930s caused mass unemployment in New Zealand. Families across the country sank into poverty and struggled to cope. This was not an ideal economic environment for starting a new business, however, Jules and Bob had a vision, and made an excellent team. They both believed that a successful company should care about the welfare of its employees. That belief continues today.
From those modest beginnings, Fulton Hogan has grown into one of the largest civil engineering and infrastructure service companies in New Zealand and Australia.
