About the role | Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our core lab team in Tauranga, taking part in a 24/7 roster.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on biological samples to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to established protocols and quality control measures.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient management.
  • Document and report findings in compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Train and mentor junior laboratory staff and students as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • Current registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in laboratory information systems and data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
