Guest Service Agent
Full-time 40-hours | Up to $27.50 per hour
The Mayfair is looking for a passionate, talented hospitality professional to join our team in Christchurch in this Guest Service Agent role. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel in customer service, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm and efficient welcome from check-in through to departure. You will be responsible for delivering consistent, professional service, while also identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience through upselling, accurate reservations, and seamless communication.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm and efficient welcome from check-in through to departure. You will be responsible for delivering consistent, professional service, while also identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience through upselling, accurate reservations, and seamless communication.
Key responsibilities
- Efficiently manage guest arrivals and departures, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
- Provide attentive, friendly service to all guests and respond promptly to enquiries
- Manage phone calls, emails, and reservation requests with accuracy and efficiency
- Complete cashiering functions, including billing, payments, and daily balancing
- Promote and upsell hotel facilities, restaurant services, and local attractions
- Resolve guest requests or concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with other front office functions such as valet parking, assisting with luggage, and concierge services
- Someone who thrives in a customer-facing role and enjoys working within a dynamic team environment
- Previous experience in hotel front office or hospitality (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence with multitasking and using property management systems (PMS)
- A professional, approachable, and guest-focused manner
- Flexibility to work rotational AM and PM shifts, which will include weekends and public holidays (some nights may be required when needed)
- Valid drivers licence
