Guest Service Agent

The Mayfair is looking for a passionate, talented hospitality professional to join our team in Christchurch in this Guest Service Agent role. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel in customer service, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm and efficient welcome from check-in through to departure. You will be responsible for delivering consistent, professional service, while also identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience through upselling, accurate reservations, and seamless communication.

Key responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage guest arrivals and departures, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
  • Provide attentive, friendly service to all guests and respond promptly to enquiries
  • Manage phone calls, emails, and reservation requests with accuracy and efficiency
  • Complete cashiering functions, including billing, payments, and daily balancing
  • Promote and upsell hotel facilities, restaurant services, and local attractions
  • Resolve guest requests or concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with other front office functions such as valet parking, assisting with luggage, and concierge services
What we're looking for:
  • Someone who thrives in a customer-facing role and enjoys working within a dynamic team environment
  • Previous experience in hotel front office or hospitality (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence with multitasking and using property management systems (PMS)
  • A professional, approachable, and guest-focused manner
  • Flexibility to work rotational AM and PM shifts, which will include weekends and public holidays (some nights may be required when needed)
  • Valid drivers licence

This is a full-time 40-hour per week position. Pay range of $26 to $27.50 per hour, depending on experience.
