We are recruiting a Business Process Advisor to join our Organisational Performance Team. You will be assigned to work on a high-priority transformation programme. This will be an immediate assignment, working within a high-performing team, leading process improvement projects to drive outcomes, create capacity and efficiency gains and improve customer experience.
What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi
This role, reporting to the Business Process Team Leader, is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, ultimately improving customer outcomes and strengthening our operational capabilities. The role will lead business process improvement projects prioritised across the organisation.
Your strong understanding of business process analysis principles and methodologies will establish you as a trusted partner in process improvement for the organisation. - Lead and deliver business improvement projects that enhance organisational efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience. Including facilitating and leading numerous workshops with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Partner with teams across the organisation to identify, analyse, and optimise key business processes using proven methodologies and best practices.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on process analysis, mapping, and redesign to drive measurable improvements in performance and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to embed continuous improvement and build capability across the organisation.
- Gain exposure to the full breadth of local government services and make a tangible impact, supported by a skilled and experienced Business Process team
What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka
You’ll bring enthusiasm for process improvement and a proven ability to drive meaningful change within complex organisations. Confident in communicating, facilitating discussions, and navigating differing perspectives, you build strong relationships while guiding others through change. Ideally, you’ll hold a relevant tertiary qualification and have at least three years’ experience in business, process, or improvement analysis — with knowledge of local government planning or infrastructure considered a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in implementing and making changes within a large organisation, be at ease working with others and not afraid to do what needs to be done.
- You will have strong written and oral communication skills, some exposure to process mapping
- High-level of confidence in facilitating business improvement workshops.
- You will understand that not everyone enjoys change and is sensitive to resolving conflict while still maintaining excellent working relationships.
- 3 years + experience in one or more of the following highly desirable; business analyst, process analyst and/or improvement analyst.
- An understanding of spatial planning, district planning, infrastructure planning and/or funding approaches in local government is highly desired.
- Permanent NZ work rights are advantageous for continuation and delivery of expected project; our ideal candidate will hold work rights within NZ for a minimum of 2 years.
