Massage Therapist (Multiple Positions)

The position of Thai Massage Therapist (Multiple Positions) is required to be filled at “Angel Thai Spa & Massage” in Epsom, Auckland. These are full time positions in a location with lots of clientele. You will be joining a high performing team offering genuine Thai massage therapy to well deserving customers.

Duties will include

• Managing bookings and schedules for all customers / clients;
• Discuss with customers / clients on their requirements and areas of concern; 
• Deal with areas of concern by using a variety of Thai Massage techniques within your experience and skill;
• Promote ongoing treatment and recommendations to further improve customers / clients well-being;
• Use other resources available to you to provide best service possible including oils, hot and cold treatments, bean bags, massage pillows, compression pads, sticks and hot stones.
• Work with business owner to manage promotions and special deals.
• Carry out massage therapist duties including greeting, preparing the workplace and using genuine Thai Massage techniques with all customers.

Ensure workspace is clean and presentable for all customers and a high standard of hygiene is maintained for the workspace and all equipment is in good repair and the business is presented in a tidy state.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications in Massage Therapy (Thai) would be ideal, however 2 years verifiable work experience may substitute. 

An original certificate from Wat Po Traditional Massage School or an equivalent certificate is preferred to maintain support for current and new clients if 2 years experience is not available or you require sponsorship.

Thailand National Skill Level 1 or above is acceptable

People within New Zealand willing to be trained are also encouraged to apply however some experience is desired along with a can-do attitude and maturity to be part of the team.

Some level of English is expected for communication with clients face to face and by telephone

ADDITIONAL NOTES

This is an exciting opportunity for someone that is self-motivated and passionate about Thai Massage. You will have to be flexible to meet the business needs so hours may be adjusted to accommodate busy times by roster. You will need maturity and honesty to continue the success of the business even in the absence of the owner. You will also need to be goal orientated and have the best interests of the customer at heart.

Suitable level of English is required to a level where you can communicate and understand the customer’s needs, make bookings, and engage with the customers in a friendly manner.

2 Years work experience must be able to be verified independently.

The ability to work in New Zealand is essential so a suitable visa is needed if you are not a NZ Citizen or Resident.

Sponsorship may be considered for a suitable applicant.

Minimum wage will be $29.70 per hour and a minimum of 30 hours per week rostered including 1 x weekend day. Maximum hours will be 42 per week.

2 x days off per week

Potential to earn overtime available

Location is in Epsom, Auckland. 

At least 2 years validated work experience can substitute for NZQA qualifications.
