Storeman / Leading Hand Warehousing

Are you the experienced storeman everyone looks to when the floor gets busy?

We’re looking for a Senior Storeman / Warehouse Leading Hand who can work alongside the team while keeping the day organised, training staff, and making sure the job gets done properly.

This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example, not from behind a desk.

United Flower Growers is a nationwide wholesale and auction business supplying florists and supermarkets across New Zealand.

Our Auckland branch operates a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment where product arrives and leaves the same day. Accuracy, organisation and teamwork are essential to keeping things running smoothly.

The Role

This is a working Leading Hand position. You’ll be part of the team while helping run the warehouse floor day-to-day.

This is a floor-based role, approximately 80% hands-on warehouse work.

Your day may include:

• Receiving product from growers

• Picking and packing customer orders

• Loading delivery vehicles

• Delivering orders when required

• Helping customers on the warehouse floor

• Guiding the team during busy periods and keeping workflow organised

• Training new staff and helping lift the capability of the team

• Ensuring staff follow good warehouse practices and standards

• Completing reviews with staff

• Ensuring orders leave accurately and on time

• Solving problems as they arise and keeping the day moving

You’ll be someone the team naturally looks to for direction when things get busy.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone practical, reliable and confident leading by example.

You’ll likely have:

• Experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment

• Experience as a senior storeman, leading hand or experienced warehouse operator looking for the next step

• Experience training staff or guiding a small team on the warehouse floor

• A willingness to work physically and stay active

• Good people skills and the ability to communicate clearly with staff

• Confidence dealing with customers and suppliers

• Forklift license preferred (counterbalance)

• A steady work history that shows reliability and commitment

Most importantly, you’re someone who steps in, shows others how things should be done, and keeps the team moving.

Reliability matters in this role — the team depends on everyone showing up ready to work and keeping the day moving.

Hours

Sunday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Monday & Wednesday: 4:30am – 1:00pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 10:30am – 7:00pm

Flexibility required as hours may vary slightly with seasonal demand.
