Position Overview

As Sales & Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, and building long-lasting customer relationships across both residential and commercial sectors. You'll lead sales strategy execution, collaborate with installation and design teams, and elevate Shade Smart's brand within the outdoor shading industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and implement a dynamic sales plan targeting homeowners, architects, builders, landscape specialists, and commercial clients.

  • Identify and pursue new business channels, including trade partners, design professionals, and large-scale projects.

  • Lead Management & Conversion

  • Proactively generate and nurture inbound and outbound leads—from enquiries to quotes to closures.

  • Oversee customer quotes, ensure high conversion rates, and follow through with service excellence.

  • Product & Project Expertise

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of products (Skyline, LuxeShield, Transroof, outdoor blinds, etc.).

  • Guide clients through customisation options, technical specifications, and installation considerations.

  • Client Relationship Building

  • Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with clients by providing tailored solutions, clear communication, and exceptional customer service.

  • Serve as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, from consultation to delivery.

  • Work closely with design, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project coordination and execution.

  • Provide feedback and insights from the field to inform product development and marketing strategy.

  • Sales Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Track and analyse sales metrics including lead volume, conversion rates, and average deal size.

  • Provide regular reports with actionable insights to senior leadership for continuous improvement.

  • Manage projects from contract signing to completion

  • Coordinate site measures, shop drawings, manufacturing, and installation scheduling

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors

  • Monitor timelines

  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality control and compliance

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, preferably within construction, outdoor living, building supplies, products, or trade sectors.

• Demonstrated success in B2B and B2C sales—especially with tailored solutions and technical products.

• Strong understanding of architectural, construction, or outdoor building processes is a distinct advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining professionalism in client-facing activities.

• Valid driver’s license essential; willingness to travel regionally as needed.
