As Chief Operating Officer, you will own the operational engine of the business and be accountable for how services are delivered across the country, ensuring operational performance, safety, quality and margin are executed with discipline and consistency.
This is not a strategy role sitting on the sidelines. The foundations, systems and direction are already in place. Your mandate is to bring them to life across a national operational footprint with strong leadership and clear accountability.
You will lead nationwide service delivery, field operations, maintenance and project teams, ensuring the organisation delivers consistently for its customers while improving productivity, capability and operational performance.
This is a visible, hands on executive role operating at the centre of the leadership team, working closely with the CEO, finance and commercial leaders to ensure the business delivers safely, efficiently and profitably.
Owning and overseeing national operational delivery across service, maintenance and project teams
Leading large field based workforces across multiple regions and service lines
Ensuring operational performance across safety, quality, cost, time and reliability
Driving productivity, utilisation and operational efficiency across the business
Establishing strong operational systems, processes and performance metrics
Leading operational safety performance and embedding strong safety leadership
Partnering with commercial and finance leaders to ensure delivery supports margin and growth
Building workforce capability, technical competence and operational leadership depth
Leading operational change and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring the organisation has the capacity, structure and systems required to scale

About You
- You must come from the fuel industry - this is non negotiable.
- You're an experienced operational leader who understands how large service organisations deliver safely and consistently at scale.
- You bring strong leadership capability, operational discipline and the ability to translate strategy into clear operational execution across large teams and complex environments.
- You will have:
- 10+ years’ senior leadership experience in operational or service delivery roles.
- Experience leading large multi site or national operational teams
- A strong track record managing operational performance, cost and margin
- Experience within energy, infrastructure, oil and gas or industrial services environments
- Proven experience leading operational change and improvement initiatives
- Strong safety leadership and experience operating in high risk environments
- The credibility to lead experienced technical teams and operational leaders
- A structured, disciplined approach to operational performance and delivery
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, engineering services or national service based organisations will be highly regarded.
