The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research) and disciplines, leading a "NZ Inc" approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.

The Sustainable Nutrition Initiative® (SNi) is a Riddet Institute programme advancing evidence for sustainable food systems. The research team use modelling, data science, and experimental approaches to understand how food production can meet the nutritional needs of the global and New Zealand populations in the future.

Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role

As the SNi® Programme Manager, you will promote the work of SNi® through project management and strategic communications. This will include liaising with SNi® stakeholders, coordinating and reporting on team and external meetings, and ensuring the smooth running of research activities. You will also have opportunities to be involved in other aspects of the Riddet Institute's work

In this role, you will join a small, enthusiastic, and growing team of Riddet Institute researchers and students, and national and international collaborators working on the SNi®programme.

This is a 1.0 FTE position for approximately two years and nine months until 15 December 2028 and is based on the Manawatu campus in Palmerston North.

You will have excellent communication skills, inclusive of verbal, digital and written skills. Project management experience and strong administrative skills will also be key. An understanding and enjoyment of science and interest in nutrition and/or sustainability is important along with an appropriate tertiary qualification.

The salary will depend on experience but will be in the range of Grade 6 (NZ$71,274 - $101,329).
