He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

We’re looking for a caring and dedicated Family/Whānau Support Worker who understands the important role whānau play in wellbeing and recovery. In this role, you’ll walk alongside families as they support loved ones experiencing mental health challenges. You’ll create safe, trusting relationships with whānau, offering guidance, practical tools, and support with goal planning while helping them access services and resources that strengthen their journey together. Your work will centre on supporting whānau, recognising their strengths, and ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.

This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, ideal for someone who values connection, collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for families in their community.

We’re looking for an energetic and compassionate team player who brings warmth, initiative, and a genuine passion for supporting people and their whānau. In this role, you’ll create safe and welcoming spaces by facilitating support and educational groups, while building strong relationships with whānau and communities.

You’ll walk alongside people on their wellbeing journey, offering positive, non-judgmental encouragement and practical support. With a strengths-based approach, you’ll help individuals and whānau build confidence, develop new skills, and move toward the goals that matter most to them.

You will have the following:

  • A Level 4 mental health-related qualification
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification, including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this).
  • The right to work in New Zealand and a full NZ driver's license.
