Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

As our Wastewater Team Leader in Taupō, you'll support the Supervisor to keep the wastewater network running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate daily field operations while working alongside the crew to deliver both reactive and planned maintenance.

You'll organise work schedules, allocate resources and make sure crews have everything they need to get the job done. From network blockages and overflows to pump station faults and routine maintenance, you'll help troubleshoot issues and ensure assets are maintained to a high standard.

You'll also play a key role in mentoring team members, supporting reporting and ensuring all work meets health, safety, environmental and compliance requirements. This role also participates in an on-call roster, responding to after-hours and weekend callouts when required.

  • Strong knowledge of wastewater networks and infrastructure
  • Experience leading or coordinating field crews
  • Skilled at planning work and managing competing priorities
  • Practical problem solver who thrives in reactive environments
  • Clear communicator with solid reporting and admin skills
  • Committed to safe work practices and environmental compliance
  • Full Class 1 driver's licence
  • Industry Level 3 qualification (Level 4 or extensive experience desirable)
  • Class 2 and WTR endorsements advantageous
