Range Officer: Real Guns Rifle Range

About the role

Real Guns NZ Ltd. is seeking a passionate Range Officer to join our team at our world class rifle range in Wanaka, Otago. As a Range Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our range, catering to recreational shooters. This is a full-time position that will play a vital role in maintaining our organization's commitment to safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

1. Overseeing the safe operation of the shooting range, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations

2. Providing expert guidance and instruction to range users, ensuring they are handling firearms correctly and responsibly

3. Maintaining range equipment and facilities to the highest standards, identifying and addressing any issues or hazards

4. Assisting with the coordination of range activities, including scheduling, booking, and customer service

5. Collaborating with the management team to develop and implement range policies and procedures

6. Fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all range users, promoting responsible firearm ownership and usage

What we're looking for

1. Excellent knowledge of firearm safety, handling, and maintenance

2. Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide a high-quality experience for all range users

3. Proficiency in range operations, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols

4. Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and guidance

5. A passion for the sport of shooting and a commitment to promoting responsible firearm usage

6. A valid firearms license and current first aid certification
