About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer to join our studio, with a strong focus on the documentation and delivery of multi-unit residential projects.

This role is hands-on and production-led. You will work on ArchiCAD projects, producing documentation and drawings packages for Resource Consent and Building Consent, and supporting projects from concept design through to detailed design and construction documentation.

You will primarily work on medium density multi-unit residential projects, with opportunities to contribute to bespoke housing and selected light commercial projects where required. The role suits someone technically capable, organised, and comfortable taking responsibility for progressing projects through key statutory stages.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multi-unit residential projects from concept through to consent and construction documentation

• Deliver high-quality architectural documentation with strong construction awareness

• Coordinate consultants, authorities, and internal support

• Contribute to one-off residential and light commercial projects where required

• Provide technical and design leadership within a boutique studio environment
  

Skills & experience

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience delivering multi-unit residential developments in New Zealand

• Strong understanding of residential planning controls (particularly in Auckland ), the NZ Building Code, and construction methods.

• Confident, clear communicator able to work directly with developers

• Proficiency in ArchiCAD

• NZ work rights

Desirable:

• LBP Design 2+

• Experience with bespoke housing or light commercial / industrial buildings

• Interest in BIM-enabled or construction-led design workflows

• Experience or qualifications within Homestar or Passive House design
