An established and respected logistics business is looking for a Transport Manager to lead their transport operations across Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide the team, strengthen the culture, and ensure the operation runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.

As Transport Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the transport function — leading the team, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of service.
You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners, helping create a positive, solutions-focused environment where people feel supported and motivated to perform at their best.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Leading and supporting the transport team to create a positive, high-performing culture
- Overseeing day-to-day transport operations and planning
- Monitoring performance, KPIs and operational outcomes
- Ensuring all regulatory, compliance and environmental standards are met
- Promoting a proactive and engaged Health & Safety culture
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Coaching, mentoring and developing team leaders and drivers
- Encouraging open communication and continuous improvement across the operation
About You
You are someone who leads from the front, communicates clearly, and knows how to bring out the best in people. You understand that great results come from clear expectations, strong relationships and a team that feels supported and valued.
You will likely bring:
- Experience within transport, freight or logistics operations
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- A collaborative leadership style and strong people skills
- Confidence working with transport management systems and operational data
- A calm, solutions-focused approach when challenges arise
- A genuine commitment to team development and workplace safety
- A Class 4 or 5 licence will be advantageous, but is not essential
