Sales Consultant
About the Role
We are seeking a Sales Consultant/ Sales Advisor to play a pivotal role in showcasing and selling our premium independent townhouses and apartments, and serviced apartments. Based at our beautiful Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora, Canterbury you will build strong and lasting relationships with prospects, residents, and community groups while contributing to the ongoing success and reputation of one of Ryman’s most established communities.
Charles Upham Retirement Village is one of our busiest villages, making this a high impact role that contributes directly to the success of our business. Working in a fast paced, high volume sales environment, this role will be suited to driven performers who thrive on results. Living locally or in the surrounding area of Rangiora would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed sales targets across units, financial outcomes, and profit margins.
- Manage the database, sales pipeline, track leads, and maintain accurate Salesforce records.
- Ensure timely settlements by following up on unsettled contracts.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with prospects, residents, families, and community organisations.
- Complete sales documentation within expected timeframes.
- Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Support new residents during their move‑in process, working closely with village teams to ensure a seamless experience.

Who Are You?
- Proven recent sales experience with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
- You build strong relationships and connect confidently with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, supported by active listening.
- You bring a customer-first mindset, showing empathy, attentiveness and a genuine drive to exceed expectations.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- You demonstrate resilience, adaptability and a positive attitude, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound problem-solving ability, with the confidence to think on your feet and find practical solutions.
- You are confident using digital tools and are familiar with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Experience making outbound phone calls to contact leads and follow up with prospects and residents under contract.
- Ideally you are well connected and actively involved in the local community.
