Stockperson – Hillgrove Farm (Near Palmerston)
Hillgrove Farm is looking for a reliable, early-rising team member to join our free-range poultry operation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who cares about animal welfare, works well in a team, and can consistently follow high-level biosecurity standards. A full Class 1 driver license is required, and you must be able to travel to Hillgrove each day.
What you’ll be doing:
- Daily care of free-range hens, including monitoring animal health and wellbeing
- Walking sheds to check water, feed systems, and overall flock condition
- Supporting animal enrichment activities to promote natural behaviour
- Processing eggs, including initial grading and handling
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic environment across sheds and work areas
- Upholding high-level biosecurity protocols at all times
- Working collaboratively within a supportive team
What we’re looking for:
- Comfortable completing practical, hands-on work
- A genuine team player with good communication
- Strong awareness of biosecurity and farm hygiene
- Interest or experience in animal husbandry
- Reliability, consistency, and a positive attitude
