Project Coordinator
Christchurch | Full Time
Behind every successful plumbing project is a highly organised Project Coordinator making sure everything runs to plan.
At Hanlon Plumbing, we’re looking for a Plumbing Project Coordinator who thrives on bringing order to complexity. Based in Christchurch, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers, site teams, suppliers and clients to coordinate schedules, manage materials, and keep project documentation on track. This is a great opportunity for someone who understands construction or plumbing projects and enjoys being at the centre of operations.
If you enjoy being at the centre of fast-moving projects and working closely with site teams, suppliers, and project managers, this is a role where you can make a real impact.
About the Role
As the Plumbing Project Coordinator, you’ll support the planning and delivery of multiple commercial plumbing projects by managing project administration, coordinating materials and site teams, and maintaining project documentation.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers and plumbing site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, in budget and to the high standards Hanlon Plumbing is known for.
What You Will Do
Project Coordination: Act as the Project Manager’s right-hand, coordinating schedules across multiple commercial plumbing projects, tracking milestones from first fix to testing and handover, and keeping everything on track.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including RFIs, variation logs, meeting minutes, progress reports, and completion documentation, ensuring all stakeholders have the information they need.
Materials & Procurement: Manage the ordering, delivery, and tracking of plumbing materials and equipment, liaising with suppliers to prevent delays and monitoring usage to flag potential issues early.
Team Support & Scheduling: Review and approve weekly timesheets, assist with workforce planning, and act as a key communication link between Project Managers, site foremen, and plumbers to keep teams aligned and projects on schedule.
Health & Safety: Support site safety processes, including toolbox talks and pre-starts, maintain safety documentation like Site-Specific Safety Plans and hazard registers, and assist with safety audits to ensure compliance with company policies.
What We're Looking For
Above all, we’re after a go-getter who thrives on organising, keeping projects running smoothly, and being the “glue behind the scenes” that makes everything happen.
Atleast 2 - 4 years’ experience in construction or commercial plumbing, ideally in a project coordination or office support role.
2+ years experience with project management and documentation platforms such as SIMPRO or similar.
Exceptional organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across projects.
Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with Project Managers, site teams, suppliers, and contractors.
Experience in material and resource coordination, ensuring timely delivery and availability on site.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset, anticipating issues and finding solutions before they escalate.
Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements in construction or commercial plumbing projects.
