Inventory Co-ordinator

Eye Institute is New Zealand’s leading provider of ophthalmic care and vision correction surgery. We’ve built our reputation on precision, professionalism and genuine care — and that starts from the moment patients walk through the door.

We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Inventory Coordinator to join our Theatre team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and reliable flow of surgical and clinical supplies across our Auckland facilities, supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Based primarily in Remuera, you’ll work closely with clinical teams, suppliers, and regional centres to maintain accurate inventory, support standardisation, and drive value-based purchasing. This role will be 20-30 hours per week which will need to be worked over 5 days Monday to Friday.

About the Role

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy being on the floor, take pride in accuracy and organisation, and value working collaboratively in a healthcare environment.

  • Maintain agreed stock levels, including critical items, and ensure timely replenishment

  • Maintain inventory reporting and systems accuracy

  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers

  • Support standardisation and value-based purchasing across regional facilities

  • Travel between Auckland sites as required, and you will require your own personal vehicle to do this (mileage will be paid)

  • Contribute positively to team culture, staff induction, and inventory-related training

  • Comply with health & safety, confidentiality, statutory, clinical, and policy requirements

About You

You’ll bring a practical, organised, and solutions-focused approach, along with:

  • Hands-on experience in a similar inventory or supply chain role

  • Experience with medical products would be an advantage

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both clinical and non-clinical teams

  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills

  • A current full driver’s license and access to a vehicle
