The opportunity
We are seeking a Community Development Administrator to join our Hapori team on a fixed-term basis (30 hours per week) for 7–8 months.
This is a pivotal administrative role supporting the delivery of our funding and grants programmes, while also providing high-level executive support to the GM Hapori. You will play an important role in ensuring funding processes run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately, helping enable community initiatives that make a real difference across the region.
As the super user of our grant management systems, you will coordinate funding rounds, manage communications with applicants, support contracting and payment processes, and assist with grant documentation and reporting on how funds have been used. You will also provide proactive diary and administrative support to the GM Hapori, ensuring effective planning and coordination across the team.
This role works closely with internal teams, Finance, and a wide range of community stakeholders. Strong relationship management and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will also contribute to the implementation of our wellbeing framework He Rangitapu, He Tohu Ora, while continuing to develop your ability to work effectively with community, whānau, hapū, and iwi.

You are a highly organised and proactive administrator who thrives on keeping systems and processes running smoothly. You take pride in accuracy, enjoy supporting others to succeed, and are confident managing competing priorities.
Ideally, you will bring:
Proven experience in administration, ideally within funding, grants, or community-focused environments
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Experience using grant management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
Confidence coordinating meetings, travel, and executive schedules
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Cultural competence, including an understanding of te reo Māori me ona tikanga (preferred)
