Following significant growth in the region, this role has been created to expand its footprint across the South Island and allow local leadership to focus on high-level strategic accounts.
This is a pivotal role that requires a proactive hunter/farmer hybrid. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio that is currently split approximately 50% New Business and 50% Account Management. With nearly 30% of TROPAC's customer base already located in the South Island, you will have a solid foundation to build upon while aggressively pursuing untapped industrial opportunities.
Working closely with the Head of Sales, you will act as a "South Island Manager," representing the brand with a high level of professionalism. This is a technically rich, fast-moving environment where your ability to engage with everyone from contractors to corporate project managers will be the key to your success.

With a loyal repeat-customer base and growing inbound demand, the business is currently scaling its New Zealand team to capitalise on market opportunities.
About the Team
The New Zealand operation is led by an experienced Director who is currently managing high-level accounts. By joining this team, you will report directly to the Head of Sales. You will be part of a collaborative environment that values technical expertise and a "half-consultant, half-salesperson" approach to customer solutions.
About the Role
This is an external, field-based role focused on the South Island, though regular travel to Auckland for training and team alignment will be required.

- Identify, pursue, and secure new sales opportunities with industrial clients.
- Manage and grow existing accounts to maximise sales potential.
- Maintain a consistent and proactive call cycle with face-to-face meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Growth
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to expand market share in relevant industry sectors.
- Build rapport and credibility with a variety of stakeholders, from tradespeople to procurement teams.
- Identify and address sales opportunities in projects and prospects.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a customer-centric approach.
- Promote the company's products and solutions to industrial contractors and distributors.
- Develop and maintain an Opportunity and Quote Pipeline within TROPAC's CRM (NetSuite/Salesforce).
- Conduct market research to identify new customer needs and stay ahead of competitor activity.
- Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment.
- Provide weekly reporting on sales results, call cycle execution, and pipeline management.
- Attend and contribute to all team meetings and strategic planning sessions.

- Has a proven record in Technical Sales (Business Development or Account Management).
- Comes from an industrial background (e.g., Factories, OEM, Pumps, or Heavy Industrial).
- Is technically savvy, you don't need to be an electrician, but you must understand technical solutions.
- Is capable of navigating corporate accounts while remaining grounded with contractors.
- Is comfortable with extensive travel across the South Island.
- Possesses strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- High-growth business with a significant opportunity to own the South Island territory.
