ABOUT US
The company is a fast-growing FMCG company located in South Auckland specialising in importing and distribution of food products to New Zealand market. An opportunity exists in Onehunga, for an experienced Accountant to work in a fast-paced environment.
POSITION PROFILE:
Oversee and manage all facets of the company’s accounting and business administration activities, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, month- end and year-end financial reporting, statutory compliance, and management of the accounting system. Handle all business administration tasks.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance Management
Ensure the entire department runs smoothly and efficiently
Preparation of periodic, half-year and year end reports. ie. Reconciliation of accounts receivable and accounts payable aging report, cash sales reconciliation, bank account reconciliation, cash flow report and forecast / fund statement, management report, monthly consolidated Account (if required)
Management of general ledger
Organise month end accrual process
Maintain fixed assets register
Preparation of FBT, GST/ BAS
Manage payroll, payroll tax, PAYG
Meet internal/external audit requirements
Develop financial policies & procedure
General insurance, workers compensation & leasing
Coaching and supervision of the finance team
Develop financial policies & procedure
Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management
Business Administration
Be the contact point for customers and suppliers for mainstream sales channels.
Handle and rectify customer complaints, provide solutions for service improvement.
Communicate with various departments to resolve customers and suppliers’ concerns.
Facility management
Manage building maintenance, repairs, and supplies, e.g. Fire safety, liaison with strata management, water, electricity, pest control, telecommunication, security.
Arrange and organise meetings and building services for Council- DA, fire safety statement, premises safety measures and dangerous goods licence.
Fleet management
Fleet registration renewals and pink slip and roadside-assistance renewal
Vehicle maintenance- service and repairs
Infringement penalties
Purchasing
Maintain stationery and office supplies
Ensure all purchases procedures and guidelines are followed
Coordinate miscellaneous office purchases
Insurance Claims
Complete and submit insurance claim forms (for vehicle, building, etc)
Liaise with insurance and the third party regarding repairing quotes
Arrange necessary repairing services
Company Phone
Manage company phone and lines
Issue new phones and sim cards to authorised staff
Identify and report any excess phone usage
Report interstate phone bills to the account department for payment
General administration & correspondence
Develop and maintain office Administration filing
Internal communications- drafting notices and staff memos
Handle public inquiries and complaints
Intellectual Property - trademark registration and renewals
Ad hoc duties
Skills Required
Have up to date knowledge of NZ tax & accounting standards.
Tertiary qualified and is either CA qualification (or equivalent) or working towards one
Team player and able to work under pressure
Strategic thinker and must have analytical awareness
3-5 years experience in a similar role
Have experience with large ERP systems
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Chinese and Cantonese Speaking is essential
Valid driving license
