An opportunity has become available for an experienced Account Manager to join a well-established and growing industrial equipment supplier servicing commercial and industrial clients across the South Island.
This role is primarily focused on managing and developing a large, established customer base, with a smaller but important focus on identifying new business opportunities. The portfolio is built on repeat, relationship-driven trade, making this a role suited to someone who values long-term partnerships over transactional sales.
You will take ownership of the full South Island territory, working autonomously while remaining closely connected to a supportive internal team.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, driving repeat business, and identifying areas for growth within accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and growing a well-established portfolio of clients
Building long-term, value-driven relationships across multiple industries
Identifying and developing new business opportunities within the South Island
Conducting regular face-to-face customer visits and site engagement
Preparing pricing, quotes, and service proposals
Coordinating with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitoring market activity and identifying growth opportunities
Achieving sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
About You
You are commercially minded, relationship-focused, and comfortable managing a large geographic territory. You enjoy autonomy, understand the importance of service consistency, and are confident handling technical product discussions.
You will ideally bring:
Proven experience in an Account Manager or B2B sales role
Experience with technical or industrial products (highly regarded)
A strong understanding of repeat, relationship-based business models
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A proactive, organised, and self-motivated approach
Confidence managing a large South Island territory
A full, clean driver’s licence
