This is a fulltime role for a fixed term of 6 months. Some weekend and evening work and Auckland-wide travel is required.

Town Hall is a specialist strategic communications consultancy working across infrastructure, urban development and private sector advisory. We deliver stakeholder and community engagement for major infrastructure projects across Auckland.

We are looking for a confident, highly organised Engagement & Events Coordinator to plan and deliver community and stakeholder events for infrastructure projects.

This is not a promotional events role. You won’t be handing out samples or running brand activations. You’ll be representing complex, often high-profile initiatives to the public - professionally, clearly and calmly.

If you enjoy live environments, take pride in tight coordination and logistics, and can confidently hold your own in real conversations, this role offers meaningful responsibility and genuine ownership.

This is an early-career role. Those with some work experience already, as well as strong graduates, are encouraged to apply.

The Role

You’ll coordinate and execute stakeholder and community engagement events from end to end.

Our senior consultants develop strategy and messaging.

You ensure delivery is well-run, on message and professionally executed.

You’ll be responsible for:

Coordination and logistics

  • Developing run sheets and delivery plans

  • Managing venues, suppliers and materials

  • Coordinating staffing and roles

  • Overseeing set-up and pack-down

  • Managing event flow

  • Troubleshooting calmly and decisively

On-the-ground engagement

  • Welcoming and guiding attendees

  • Clearly explaining project information

  • Managing robust or critical questions with composure

  • Capturing feedback accurately

  • Maintaining message discipline at all times

Some weekend and evening work and Auckland-wide travel are part of the role. A full driver’s licence is required.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

You may be building your career in events, activations or experiential delivery - and ready to step into more responsibility or projects that are more meaningful for you. You may be a graduate who already has what it takes to excel in a role like this.

You are likely someone who:

  • Is naturally outgoing and confident in front-of-house settings

  • Has experience coordinating events or managing logistics

  • Is organised, reliable and detail-focused

  • Stays calm under pressure

  • Understands professional boundaries and client representation

  • Can stick to agreed messaging

If you’re looking for purely promotional or entertainment-based work, this role won’t be the right fit.

If you’re ready to deliver meaningful engagement in high-trust environments, we’d like to hear from you.

Skills and experience in digital content design and production, photography, storyboarding, videography or editing are a bonus.

Why Join Town Hall?

We are a small, senior team. That means:

  • Early responsibility

  • High standards

  • Strong mentorship

  • Rapid professional development

You will gain exposure to how complex projects are delivered, and how organisations manage reputation and risk when it matters.
