HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Brown Bros (N.Z) Ltd' a leading Water Bore and Exploration Drilling Company based in Hamilton. This full-time role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy diesel equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
What you'll be doing
Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel engines and drill rigs
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Rebuild and overhaul components such as mud pumps, air compressors, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems
Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used
Collaborate with the wider team to ensure efficient operations and minimise downtime
Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with a minimum of 3 years in the automotive trades industry
Flexible, Honest and Reliable
Strong technical skills and knowledge of heavy diesel engine maintenance and repair
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in the use of specialised tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail
Valid driver's licence and clean driving record, Class 2 and above preferred
