HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Brown Bros (N.Z) Ltd' a leading Water Bore and Exploration Drilling Company based in Hamilton. This full-time role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy diesel equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel engines and drill rigs

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues

  • Rebuild and overhaul components such as mud pumps, air compressors, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems

  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used

  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure efficient operations and minimise downtime

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with a minimum of 3 years in the automotive trades industry

  • Flexible, Honest and Reliable

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of heavy diesel engine maintenance and repair

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficient in the use of specialised tools

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail

  • Valid driver's licence and clean driving record, Class 2 and above preferred

  • Drug Free
