Estimator/ Business development lead

Our client is an award‑winning, Kiwi‑owned and operated contractor with a long history of completing some of the most dynamic geotechnical projects across the Auckland region.

The Role
They are currently seeking a hybrid role split between Estimating and leading the development of new business opportunities.

Ideally the candidate can manage estimating across a range of technically challenging geotechnical projects, from slip stabilisation to multiple piling techniques across both residential and commercial sectors, while also developing and optimising business opportunities within the Auckland market.

Duties
  • Prepare tenders, quotes, and cost estimates for civil projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and site information to support accurate pricing
  • Source and coordinate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Prepare bid documents and capability material for submissions
  • Track market pricing, competition, and trends to support commercial strategy
About You
  • Approximately five+ years’ experience as an estimator or civil engineer within civil construction
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate pricing, build client relationships, and develop a pipeline of business opportunities
  • NZ work rights and New Zealand experience are essential (applicants without these will not be considered)
