AFM AUCTION ASSISTANT - NIGHT SHIFT
About the role
As an AFM Auction Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring seafood product is accurately received, quality checked and prepared for auction each day. Working within a small, coordinated nightshift team, you’ll help maintain high standards of quality assurance, reporting accuracy and customer service.
Working closely with the Nightshift Supervisor and wider AFM team, you’ll contribute to a safe, efficient and well-organised auction environment while ensuring suppliers and buyers receive excellent service.
Role Accountabilities:
- Receive and unload seafood product for auction
- Carry out quality assurance checks to ensure product meets required standards
- Accurately record and manage reception documentation
- Assist buyers with their purchased product post-auction
- Maintain a healthy, safe and environmentally responsible work environment
- Meet daily auction deadlines and cut-off times
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and buyers
- Support the Nightshift Supervisor and wider team as required
What you need to succeed in the role:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Level 2 qualification (or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills)
- Forklift licence advantageous
- Previous seafood or food industry experience preferred
