Maintenance Fitter - Manufacturing
The Role
This well-established high production manufacturing plant dealing with raw materials is seeking an experienced Maintenance fitter.
This is a long-standing, well-established site within a well-respected national industry leader, with high levels of production. This site is currently in a growth phase with several capital projects underway. The maintenance team consisting of shift fitters and onsite electricians are responsible for overall plant maintenance, breakdowns and improvements.
DUE TO location, this role is commutable from South Auckland or North Waikato. Very Handy Location!
Responsibilities
Working with production leaders, contractors and operators to ensure timely resolution of all mechanical breakdown issues
Preventative Maintenance activities including continuous improvement feedback of PM plans.
Identifying equipment issues and functional failure and reporting in the maintenance system.
Completion of scheduled engineering work orders
Liaise with Site Management for procurement of stores & spares.
Assisting the Engineering & Mill Managers with running continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
Proven experience ( Min 3 years) as a Mechanical Engineer, with a preference to Industrial or Heavy Manufacturing Environments.
Experience within Heavy or Industrial Manufacturing environments is preferred. I.E Sawmilling, Timber Processing, Pulp/Paper, Steel, Mining, Cement, Glass, Dairy, Chemical Production ect.
Strong knowledge & Understanding of Health & Safety within a Manufacturing Plant.
The ability to travel between South Auckland and North Waikato Sites (with compensation) when required would be an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong positive culture.
