Settlements Officer - Dunedin

Forsyth Barr is one of New Zealand’s leading investment firms, trusted by investors for 90 years. We are seeking a highly accurate and dependable Settlements Officer to join our Dunedin-based team.

This is a critical role where precision matters. You will help ensure client funds and settlement transactions are processed correctly, reconciled daily, and delivered on time — safeguarding the integrity of our financial operations.

About the Role

As part of our Settlements team, you will:

• Process and reconcile client funds and settlement transactions with accuracy and efficiency

• Complete daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

• Manage payments, journals and transactional processing

• Maintain the integrity of financial records and internal controls

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth operational delivery

This is a structured, detail-driven role where your work directly supports client trust and operational excellence.

About You

You are meticulous, reliable and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment where accuracy is essential.

You will bring:

• Experience in banking, financial services, accounting or high-volume transactional processing

• Strong reconciliation and numerical skills

• A high level of attention to detail and personal accountability

• The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure

• A practical, solutions-focused mindset

• A collaborative and professional approach

Experience within financial markets or settlements is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
