What’s it like working at HelloFresh?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees love the amazing team culture and social atmosphere at HelloFresh, with supportive colleagues and regular events that create lifelong friendships. The earning potential through commissions is excellent, and the role offers valuable personal development in sales and resilience, along with flexibility and autonomy in a non-hierarchical environment with clear progression opportunities.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as the initial learning curve when starting in sales and the need for mental resilience to handle daily rejection. Some employees feel that training could be more comprehensive, and working outdoors means dealing with weather conditions. Additionally, unpaid travel time can extend the working day, and there may be organisational changes with shifting priorities at times.

A little bit of money maker
The good thingsThe commission you can make if you work a little harder really pays off! You can plan your own day, the hours are chill. You have a mix of working alone and with others which is a nice balance.
The challengesYour mental strength is needed in this job so good to have refreshers throughout the day.

Fast-paced culture with great people and high ownership, but lacking structure and good benefits
The good thingsGreat office culture with a young and energetic team. There are regular social events like games nights, pizza lunches, sunset drinks and office parties, which makes the environment fun and engaging. The company is not very hierarchical - if you have a good idea, it will be heard and often implemented quickly. There is a lot of ownership and autonomy in the role, with flexibility to work in your own way and continuously improve processes. The hybrid working model also provides good flexibility and work-life balance while still maintaining a strong office culture. The environment is very fast paced, which can be exciting, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in high-impact projects and gain visibility with senior leadership if you are proactive.
The challengesThere is constant change and high staff turnover, which can make it difficult to maintain stability and continuity. Leadership direction is not always clear, and priorities can shift frequently. The business can feel unstructured at times, with unclear KPIs and expectations. Promotions can also be difficult due to organisational structure and budget limitations. Salary can often be below market average for similar roles, and employee benefits are fairly limited, with the main benefit being a discount on the company’s box subscription.

Great way to meet new people, good money and great opportunities!
The good thingsA great opportunity for people especially on a WHV as it is a great way to meet loads of new people doing the same thing. I have worked for hello fresh for over a year and have made lifelong friends, been to places in Australia I would have never been before and made some good money too along the way. It’s flexible work with sociable hours and a great chance to learn a new skill if you have never done sales before.
The challengesNature of the job can be a little repetitive if you do it consistently but that is normally the same for any kind of sales role.

An incredibly positive, supportive job with an amazing team and really good opportunities!
The good thingsWorking at HelloFresh has honestly been an amazing experience for me. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by an incredibly kind, open and motivated team. Everyone helps each other and the atmosphere is genuinely positive and fun. The manager is always approachable, understanding and motivating, and you really feel that he cares about the team as people, not just as workers. The company is very generous, appreciates hard work and creates an environment where you feel valued and trusted. Everything is well organised, communication is clear and you always know where you stand. It’s one of those jobs where you actually enjoy showing up every day!
The challengesThere isn’t much to improve. The job can be fast-paced at times, but that also keeps it exciting and motivating. With the strong support from the team and management, any challenges feel manageable and even enjoyable.

Authentic and fun workplace with endless benefits!
The good thingsThis job has a very wholesome and welcoming social circle which i honestly cannot compare to any other kind of job. The number of unique and cool people you meet is genuinely endless as there are always new people joining. There are also a lot of social events going on, whether that be organised by HelloFresh themselves, or outside of work events managed by the people. Alongside this the actual work is incredibly rewarding and the pay is simply delightful! I’ve enjoyed working here more than any other job i’ve had. There’s also a lot of opportunities for progression which is always a bonus :)
The challengesThe biggest challenge i’ve faced in this job is probably combatting the weather when you’re on the field selling. Summer is especially tough as it’s just really hot and there’s not really a way to escape it other than cold water. As well as when it’s raining it’s a challenge to stay motivated to keep persisting. This being said it’s almost more rewarding when you do finally get a sale despite the tough conditions which is ultimately what’s kept me here for so long.

One of the best jobs I’ve had with some of the best people I’ve met.
The good thingsIf you perform well you can earn a lot! Good chances for progression, great team members and culture, good company events (monthly) chances to travel Australia if you perform. Road trips to local areas, Friday beers!
The challengesWith any company there are improvements that can be made but a lot of the hard points of the job are out of the companies control! For example the weather! But on hotter days we are put in coastal locations and team leaders are regularly checking and dropping water to everyone.

The job can be fun but also very draining, everyday is the same, but very different at the same time
The good thingsIs a good way to meet people if you are a backpacker since everyone is a backpacker in the office. Enough shifts, free weekends and +30hrs per week. You work outside, which could be a pro or con depending on the weather
The challengesCan be draining and boring sometimes. You get paid from 10:45 to 18, but you just finish knocking at 18, so once you get picked up and drive back to the office is around an extra hour that you don’t get paid for. So even if is not really working, the timetable kinda makes you waste the whole day.
